Cabinet-Building Seminar Novemebr 7th!

Happy Halloween Carpenters!

Robby here with info on my next Carpentry Clinic at Piedmont Lumber Co in Walnut Creek. This will be the last one of the season so be sure not to miss it. This November 7th I’ll be using the Kreg pocket jig system to build a face frame cabinet. I love pocket screws and this clinic will definitely show you why. This versatile attachment system is the best advancement in wood working to come along in a long time so be sure to come on down and see how it can make your projects easier, stronger, and go together faster. We start at 10am this time because this is a one part clinic!

See you there!

More details on Saturday's Carpentry Clinic

Hello Finish Carpentry Friends!

Robby here and I'm really excited about this month's free carpentry clinic at Piedmont Lumber in Walnut Creek.

This month we feature one of my favorite projects, wainscot paneling. I'm going to show you three different construction and application techniques. First up is a simple and cost effective (cheap cheap) applied panelling which really gives you a great bang for your buck. Second is a shaker style which works great in a Craftsman Home, featuring the use of Kreg Pocket screw jointery, and third is the classic genuine waiscot panel with raised moulding. Don't miss it!

We start at 10:30am with a break for a BBQ lunch from 12:00pm - 1:00pm, finishing up at 2:30pm. Hope to see you there!

***Bonus 10% off Kreg Pocket Screw Tools, Makita Track Saws & Makita Miter Saws - ONE DAY ONLY, for attendees only!

Starting at 10:30 a.m., learn the basics of hanging a prehung interior door and how to build a door or window header. We will also cover the basics of interior door removal and replacement as well as some moulding ideas to dress up your doors. This section of the clinic will be aimed at beginners and semi-experienced DIYers who want to learn additional tips and tricks.

From noon until 1:00 p.m., we'll host a free BBQ lunch, after which we will offer a second clinic on the tricky techniques of machining new door slabs to fit into existing jambs, which should end at 2:30 p.m.

Well, I’ve been using a Powertank for my small jobs, like installing doors, for years. AirResearch, the makers of Power Tank, have developed a line of products just for the construction industry and my review of the products was just published in the Journal of Light Construction.
